Saddam Hussein has been buried in a family plot in the village where he was born 69 years ago.
Just hours after his execution in the Iraqi capital, the body of the former president was reportedly flown in an American aircraft to Awja, in the Tikrit region.
New video of his execution, taken by mobile phone, has been posted on the internet. It illustrates how the former dictator was taunted by onlookers as he was on the gallows - in contrast to the reports of officials yesterday.
The video shows the actual moment Saddam died. Our report does not include that footage, but it does include scenes some viewers may find distressing.
