Channel 4 News foreign correspondent Nick Paton Walsh talks about his embed with a US Army unit in northern Iraq.
The effect of being embedded with a group of fighting soldiers is that you can't really help but empathise with them as you go through what they do.
But from the viewpoint of a journalist covering events in Iraq, it offers a unique perspective on what is happening on the ground in a country that has been devastated by conflict for the last five years.
