Lavish Dubai resort opens in style

A lavish resort which sits on Dubai's man-made island has opened in spectacular star-studded style.
The world-renowned Palm Jumeirah and its flagship resort, Atlantis, The Palm, put on what was billed as the world's largest fireworks display.
Kylie Minogue performed at the launch party and a raft of other A-lister were at Birth of an Icon - The Celebration.
Atlantis, The Palm, is a $1.5 billion ocean-themed resort located at the centre of the island with 1,539 rooms.
It has 17 hectares of water park amusement, further marine and entertainment attractions, and a collection of some of the most renowned world-class chefs.
