Israel urged to stop homes growth

Britain has urged Israel to abandon plans to build more homes in Palestinian territory, insisting they presented an obstacle to peace.
News of the expansion of a settlement in the Jordan Valley came just days after Gordon Brown made a personal appeal to Israeli premier Ehud Olmert to halt such activities.
The two prime ministers clashed over the issue during talks in Jerusalem on Sunday.
