Iraq 'troops out' plan approved
Updated on 16 December 2008
The Iraqi government has approved a resolution requiring British troops to leave the country by the end of July.
UK defence sources have already indicated that the withdrawal is likely to begin in March and could be complete by June.
The resolution sets a timetable for all non-US forces to be pulled out next year, a spokesman for Iraqi prime minister Nouri al-Maliki said.
