Germany warns of terror threat
Updated on 22 July 2007
Germany is facing a higher risk of terror attacks from Islamic terrorists, including al Qaida, the government has warned.
"In the past days, there have been many concrete indications that Germany is increasingly in the sights of international terrorists," Interior Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble was quoted as saying in daily newspaper B.Z.
Included in the threat were indications that suicide bombers could be sent to Germany, and that German institutions abroad could be targeted, Schaeuble said.
