Brown talks prompted Copenhagen resignation

The resignation of Denmark's energy minister Connie Hedegaard as president of the climate change conference in Copenhagen was agreed in talks last night between the Danish prime minister, Gordon Brown and Australian premier Kevin Rudd.
The decision to replace Connie Hedegaard came last night, according to Channel 4 News science correspondent Julian Rush.
As a result of those talks, the decision was taken to replace her early to get things moving.
"Things are descending into chaos and shambles," Julian Rush told Channel 4 News at Noon. "There has been no progress overnight in talks between officials and ministers to move things forward."
Ms Hedegaard announced this morning: "With so many heads of state and government having arrived, it's appropriate that the prime minister of Denmark presides.
"However, the prime minister has appointed me as his special representative, and I will thus continue to negotiate the... outcome with my colleagues," she said.
