A British woman charged with causing the death of her newborn son on a Greek holiday island was readmitted to hospital after a magistrate ordered that she be held in prison custody.

Police and prosecutor's office officials said 20-year-old Leah Andrew fainted after giving evidence for six hours on the island of Crete.

Andrew, from south east London, who had been discharged from hospital earlier, is being charged with infanticide.
