The longest solar eclipse in 200 years
Updated on 22 July 2009
Hundreds of millions of people watched the longest solar eclipse of the 21st century as it passed across Asia.

The shadow passed across India and China, plunging the areas in its path into darkness for almost seven minutes.
Some special journeys into the 155-mile eclipse corridor but overcast skies and rain in many areas spoiled the view for many in mainland China.
The eclipse swept through Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Burma and over the crowded cities along China's Yangtze River, before heading to the Pacific.
