Massive blaze on Timor Sea rig
Updated on 02 November 2009
A massive fire erupts on the West Atlas rig in the Timor Sea, off the coast of Australia, which has been leaking oil for 10 weeks.

The Australian government has promised an investigation into the fire, which broke out on the West Atlas rig and Montara wellhead platform on Sunday.
The blaze started when workers began pumping heavy mud into a leaking well casing.
An estimated 400 barrels of oil a day have escaped from the hole since 21 August.
