Lindsey Hilsum's Beijing, part 2

Updated on 17 July 2008

By Lindsey Hilsum

International editor and Channel 4 News's first ever Beijing correspondent continues a personalised tour of her 'hometown'.

Lindsey Hilsum became China correspondent in 2006 when ITN, makers of Channel 4 News, opened up a Beijing bureau.

Lindsey continues her guided tour of Beijing, starting at Tiananmen Square, frequented by Chinese people but still associated with 1989 in the mind of the West. It's a place still dominated by Mao.
