Afghan assault after deadly US attack

Foreign and Afghan forces launch an assault against the Taliban in an area where eight American soldiers were killed at the weekend.

Saturday's attacks in remote Nuristan province near the Pakistani border were the deadliest on US forces in more than a year.

Militants launched the attacks on two joint NATO and Afghan outposts with rocket-propelled grenades, machine guns and rifles.
