24 bodies found at Oberoi hotel

By James Blake

Updated on 28 November 2008

Gun battles continue at the Taj Mahal Palace, one of the hotels where guests are holed up.

The police found 24 bodies inside the Oberoi hotel shortly after it was brought under the control of the Indian authorities, freeing 93 guests.

Commandos are trying to free hostages at a Jewish centre and the authorities say they are confident of clearing all seven locations in Mumbai which were attacked.

Indian television said eight gunmen had been killed and two captured.
