Artists light up Sydney Opera House
Updated on 27 May 2009
Sydney's iconic Opera House has been turned into the backdrop for a festival of music and light.
Curated by British musician, producer and artist Brian Eno, Vivid Sydney is the biggest event of its kind in the southern hemisphere.
The ex-Roxy Music keyboard player launched the festival by projecting a series of pieces onto the famous sail-shaped roof of the Opera House.
He said: "What I am doing here, I guess, is trying to state some kind of new cultural position, which is a position I think is developing globally.
"A lot of barriers that used to separate the art forms from one another have withered away."
