Apple unveils latest iPhone model

Apple has unveiled the next generation of its iPhone with the promise that it will be twice as fast as its predecessor.
The 3GS was launched in San Francisco by Apple executives - without the presence of chief executive Steve Jobs who has been undergoing treatment for cancer.
The new model includes some sought-after features such as a video camera, a compass and an auto-focus function on photos.
The iPhone has revolutionised mobile use across the world and for the first time the iPod generation can plug themselves in to listen to their favourite tunes on the same device they used to call their friends.
Its array of applications turn it into more of an extension of an office than just a mobile phone and crossed the gap between "geek" and "chic", attracting users of all ages and status.
In the UK, O2 confirmed that if bought as a pay-as-you-go, the new handset will cost £440.40 for the 16GB model and £538.30 for the 32GB version.
On its 24-month contract, which costs £45 a month, customers will get the 16GB phone free or they can pay an extra £96.89 for the 32GB. Those signing shorter 18-month contracts will have to pay up to £184.98 for the 16GB phone or up to £274.23 for the 32GB.
