As shoppers indulge in the sales, there's a new gloomy prediction for our recession-hit economy.

Millions have been out spending today, taking advantage of bumper Boxing Day sales. But as shoppers indulge in a final retail splurge, there's a new gloomy prediction for our recession-hit economy: growth may hit a 60-year low in 2009.

Killer 'Santa' on the rampage

In Los Angeles, eight people are dead and a family's in mourning after a 45-year-old man dressed as Santa went on a shooting rampage at a party hosted by his ex-wife's parents.
