President Obama faces calls for tougher action on gun control after 100 days in power.
One area in which President Obama has rowed back from his pre-election promises is gun control.
It is an issue that arouses strong feelings in urban black communities, not least in New York City, where a surge of shootings, 14 over last weekend alone, has pushed the issue up the political agenda.
