The Iraqi General who took over control of Basra city when the British withdrew tells More4 News that pulling out was the right move.
In southern Iraq, the British have already pulled back - last week withdrawing from Basra, and handing over command to Iraqi forces. The man who's now in charge was once imprisoned by Saddam Hussein in Abu Ghraib.
Now General Mohan al-Faraiji has more fire power at his fingertips than any other Iraqi official - with an unsurpassed degree of autonomy. He's been in Baghdad this week, where he spoke to Kylie Morris. She began by asking him how Basra is faring now the British have gone.
