America has always been central to peace in Northern Ireland. What has their reaction been?


Irish-American supporters of the IRA have dug deep into their pockets over the years to see Ireland reuinted - so how have they reacted to today's promise to give-up the armed struggle?

While Gerry Adams travelled to Dublin for the announcement, Sinn Fein's Chief Negotiator, Martin McGuinness, recognised the important part that Irish Americans have played in the funding of the republican fight by travelling to Washington for the announcement.
