Sri Lankan forces say there will be no truce and no pause in the fighting as troops close in on the Tamil tiger rebels in the final push of this long-running civil war.

A United Nations document claims almost 6,500 civilians have been killed over the last three months.
It is sending an aid team into the rebel stronghold where it says 50,000 people are still trapped.
