Channel 4 News kept a close eye on the 2009 Ashes series.

England's 2-1 victory proved comprehensively it is not enough for individual players to end a series with statistics they can be proud of.

Australia scored more runs, they claimed more wickets and their batsmen scored eight centuries between them while England only managed two.
