Tories 'best bet' to tackle poverty

The Tories are now best placed to fight poverty in our country, David Cameron has declared.
The Conservative leader set out plans to encourage a culture of responsibility and civic engagement to improve life in some of Britain's poorest communities.
But Chancellor Alistair Darling took a swipe at Mr Cameron's pledge to scale back the role of the state in remarks to business leaders.
