Soldier to Ainsworth: send more troops

As eight US soldiers die in a Taliban attack, a British bomb expert tells Defence Secretary Bob Ainsworth that extra troops are vital for success in Afghanistan.

In army hero has confronted the defence secretary over troop shortages in Afghanistan

Staff Sergeant Kim Hughes, a bomb disposal expert, warned Bob Ainsworth, who was visiting forces in the south of the country, that more troops are needed for the army's mission to be safe and effective. 

Today American soldiers were also urging their government to provide more troops after eight soldiers were killed in the deadliest battle for more than a year.
