Report to suggest ecstasy downgrade

Source PA News

Updated on 11 February 2009

The Government's drug advisory body is expected to recommend moving ecstasy from class A to class B.

The Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs (ACMD) will publish its long-awaited investigation into the harm caused by the dance drug.

The publication of the report has been overshadowed by comments made by the ACMD's chairman, who compared the dangers of ecstasy with those of riding a horse.
