Remembrance Sunday tributes

The Queen and senior politicians joined thousands of veterans to fall silent at 11 o'clock to honour the servicemen and women killed in conflicts from the past and present.

This year's Remembrance Sunday commemorations received added poignancy with the news two more soldiers have died in Afghanistan this weekend.

It means 201 service personnel have now been killed in action since the mission began in 2001, a milestone that has raised further questions about Britain's military strategy.
