Rail commuters face travel chaos
Updated on 12 November 2009
Commuters are facing travel chaos as a lack of drivers forced "a large number" of rail services to be cancelled, a train firm said.
First Capital Connect (FCC) said it was reducing services on its Thameslink Bedford to Brighton route after Wednesday's disruption led to chaotic scenes at stations, especially those close to London.
The amended timetable comes as train drivers on some of the country's busiest rail routes are to be balloted for strikes in a row over pay, threatening pre-Christmas travel chaos.
