Queen leads tributes for war veteran

The world's oldest man Henry Allingham, a veteran of the first world war, has died at the age of 113.

Staff at the nursing home near Brighton where he had lived described him as "one in a million" who had been active right up until his final days.

The Queen called him "one of the generation who sacrificed so much for us all", while Britain's top military commanders said Mr Allingham's death marked a milestone in history.
