Prince's shock over officer's death

The Prince of Wales has spoken of his "shock and horror" at the death of the most senior British officer killed in Afghanistan, describing his loss as "heartbreaking". Jane Dodge reports.

Lieutenant Colonel Rupert Thorneloe, commander of the First Battalion of the Welsh Guards, lost his life in a roadside bombing near Lashkar Gah on Wednesday.

Trooper Joshua Hammond also died in the explosion. He was 18 and served with the 2nd Royal Tank Regiment.


Jon Snow is joined by Major Patrick Little who left the British army last year after 16 years of service and has previously served in Afghanistan.
