Nutt slams drug advice concessions

Concessions agreed by the Home Secretary with his drugs advisers fail to address the key issue of scientific independence, Professor David Nutt said.
A series of measures were set out during showdown talks with the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs (ACMD) in the wake of the sacking of its chairman.
They include an agreement that Alan Johnson will write formally to his advisers in future to explain any decision on classification that goes against their advice.
