The programme, launched with the channel on 10 October 2005, has achieved great results in its first year of broadcast including an RTS nomination as News Programme of the Year. The programme's international reportage was recognised with a Bronze Medal at the recent New York Festivals

Will Thorne was the programme's Senior Programme Editor from launch night until late 2006, when he moved to become Assistant Editor of Channel 4 News. He will continue to retain managerial oversight for More4 News, with David assuming a hands-on team leadership role, with responsibility for creative and team development.

David is currently an Executive Producer at Sky News, where he's had responsibility for the nightly 8-10pm programme for the past year, and also for World News specials presented by James Rubin. Prior to that David made half-hour docs for Sky News and in-depth pieces at home and abroad.

Before joining Sky, David has a strong record of editorial and production creativity as Editor of the weekly Jonathan Dimbleby programme, and as a producer/director and Editor of documentaries and specials for Channel 4 and ITV.

David's programme credits include: 'It'll Be All White on the Night', 'Immigration on Trial', 'Tony Blair on Trial' and 'Inside the Mind of Tony Blair' - all for C4.

And for ITV, David was Editor of 'The New World War' a 2-part Dimbleby documentary on global terror; and of Jonathan Dimbleby's Leader Interview Specials for the last election. David has also been a producer/director on a range of other ITV programmes including.... 'I'm a Celebrity Get Me out of Here', 'Young, Posh, and Loaded', 'Desperately Seeking Sheila'

David is currently involved in a major project for Sky and is expected to take up his new role at More4 News in March.
