MPs join overcrowded homes campaign
Updated on 10 November 2009
MPs have been urged to show the growing number of children living in overcrowded homes the same concern as battery chickens.
Around one million children in Britain live in overcrowded homes, including 330,000 in London, and the capital's Mayor Boris Johnson backed charity Shelter's campaign to help them.
More than 270 MPs have signed a Parliamentary motion calling for better living conditions for chickens yet the Government has failed to rewrite out-of-date definitions of overcrowding, Shelter said.
