Met to discuss Menezes death report

Updated on 06 September 2007

The Metropolitan Police Authority (MPA) is due to meet to discuss the force's response to a critical report on its handling of the Jean Charles de Menezes shooting.

Members of the statutory body will review changes to the Met's arrangements regarding the delivery of information made following the fatal shooting of Mr de Menezes on July 22 2005, by officers hunting would-be suicide bombers.

Last month, the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) found "serious weaknesses" in how the Metropolitan Police handled critical information relating to the shooting at Stockwell Tube station.
