Lower drink-drive limits backed
Updated on 05 September 2007
More than two-thirds of British motorists would support proposals to introduce stricter drink-drive limits, a survey has found.
At present drivers in the UK can have a maximum of 80mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood - compared with 50mg in most other European countries and 20mg in Poland, Sweden and Norway.
Some 68% of British drivers support lowering the drink-drive limit to bring it into line with the rest of Europe, according to a poll for insurer More Than.
