Updated on 05 October 2009

By James Blake

Two teenage girls are believed to have killed themselves by leaping 100ft from a bridge in Glasgow.

Erskine Bridge

The girls, aged 14 and 15, jumped from Erskine Bridge into the River Clyde - reportedly holding hands as they did so.

They were both living at a unit which cares for young people referred by local authorities.

Their bodies were recovered after a search involving the emergency services and the Ministry of Defence.
