Gurkhas: 'We've been betrayed'

Supporters say that fewer than 100 of the thousands of former Gurkhas seeking to settle in Britain will be able to meet the new criteria.

Campaigners supporting the right of former Gurkha soldiers to live in Britain have condemned new rules to be introduced by the government as an "act of treachery and betrayal".

Ministers were forced to change the system following a High Court ruling last year that immigration guidelines on older veterans were unlawful and in need of urgent review.
