Former minister set to stand down

A former minister who urged Gordon Brown to quit will stand down at the next election.
Jane Kennedy piled pressure on the Prime Minister in June when she became the eighth minister to quit in a week, following Labour's disastrous showing in the European elections.
Mrs Kennedy, MP for Wavertree in Merseyside, said she needed a fresh challenge after 18 years at Westminster and her constituency needed some one with "the necessary enthusiasm".
