There was no cover up in the investigation into CIA 'torture flights' carried out by Britain's top police officers - the Foreign Office has insisted.

The Association of Chief Police Officers also denied its inquiry amounted to a whitewash.

The investigation found no evidence that extraordinary rendition flights had used UK airports - but human rights campaigners have questioned how far ACPO looked into the claims.
