CIA plane spotting

Updated on 04 November 2005

By John Sparks

Exclusive: Images of planes, which human rights groups believe are chartered by the CIA to fly terror suspects to secret prison sites, landing at British airports.

It can't be often that the worlds of plane-spotting and secret intelligence collide, but tonight we have exclusive images of what are alleged to be CIA flights, camouflaged as civilian aircraft, landing and refuelling in British airports.

The very same aircraft thought to be used to ferry US terror suspects around the world - sometimes to states with track records in torture.

Other EU countries have turned away these planes - the British government says they're civilian flights, and aren't required to divulge who or what they're carrying.
