A 18-year-old man is fighting for his life after falling from the roof of a moving car.

An ambulance service spokesman said the teenager had been "car surfing" when he fell backwards in Chesterton, Warwickshire.

He suffered serious head injuries and is being treated at the University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire.

The 18-year-old female driver of the Fiat Puto was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and is currently on police bail pending further inquiries.

A 17-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries last week when he toppled from a car in Devon while "car surfing".

The reckless activity has become a craze among young drivers many of whom post and watch clips on the internet.

The driver, a 17-year-old, was also arrested in the previous incident in Devon.
