Britain must provide developing countries an extra £1.2 billion to deal with the effects of its contribution to global warming, a leading aid charity has demanded.
Despite being the biggest global contributor to so-called "adaptation" funds, the UK is still paying only a tiny fraction of the contribution it should, according to Oxfam.
It pointed out that the total pledged by all rich countries was only about half the £178 million allocated by ministers for cooling systems to climate-change proof the London Underground.
