Despite the rising number of British casualties in Afghanistan more young people than ever are trying to join the Army.

Recruitment offices across Britain say they are being inundated with people determined to enlist.

So is it simply a desire to serve Queen and country or more to do with the recession?

Channel 4 News meets some new soldiers to find out why they signed up.
