What connects David Cameron with John Cleese, Harry Enfield, Peter Sellers and Jim Carrey?
Nothing much, except that all of them have seen nothing wrong in putting on a German accent, for purposes of comedy – or in Mr Cameron's case, satirising the allegedly arbitrary police powers inherent in ID cards.
