Steve Bruce: Arsenal kids 'outstanding'
Updated on 14 November 2008
Wigan manager Steve Bruce has predicted that "four or five" of Arsenal's young guns will make the grade as Premier League stars.
The former Manchester United captain experienced the quality of Arsenal's next generation at first hand when his side lost 3-0 at The Emirates in the Carling Cup this week.
Arsenal fielded a completely different side to the team which beat Manchester United just days earlier. The cup side had an average age of just 19.

The starting line-up that faced Wigan on Tuesday with an average age of 19:
Lukasz Fabianski, Gavin Hoyte, Alexandre Song, Johan Djourou, Kieran Gibbs, Jack Wilshere, Mark Randall, Aaron Ramsey, Fran Merida, Carlos Vela, Jay Simpson
Bruce said: "You can see there is going to be four or five of them that are going to make it into the Arsenal team.
"We were disappointed because we picked a team that we thought could go and get a result against a young Arsenal side.
"But you have to compliment them on their performance. They have got some outstanding young players."
