Sam back to Bolton for opener

Opening weekend fixtures published by the Premiership.

Manager Sam Allardyce (pictured below) will begin his career with Newcastle United by taking his new team back to Bolton, the club he left just last month.

Meanwhile, ex-Manchester United captain Roy Keane will make his Premiership debut as a manager at home to Spurs

These are two of the highlights of an opening weekend of football fixtures announced this monring. The Premiership season kicks-off on Saturday 11 August.

Elsewhere in the Premiership, champions Manchester United are at home to Reading, while newcomers Derby and Birmingham are at home to Portsmouth and away at Chelsea respectively.

West Ham, who controversially maintained their top flight status a month ago, kick the season off at home to Manchester City.
