Ronaldinho: 'Becks should stay'
Updated on 30 December 2008
Brazilian superstar Ronaldinho has called on David Beckham to quit playing for LA Galaxy and stay in Italy.
Beckham has joined the Italian giants Milan on loan until March 8 and he has already impressed his new team-mates in training.
Ronaldinho said: "I am very happy about the arrival of Beckham. He can help us win."
But he stirred up controversy by suggesting Beckham could extend his stay in Italy if he proves to be a success in Serie A.
He added: "If he does well he should stay for more than three months."
Beckham signed a five-year contract with LA Galaxy in 2007 but some pundits have suggested he should come back to Europe because the standard of football in America is poor and his arrival has not brought the team the success they expected.
