It is one of the biggest questions facing British sport: how do we get our underperforming teams ready in time for the 2012 Olympics?
The British Olympic Association has set a target of finishing fourth in the overall medals table when the event comes to London - putting big pressure on sports such as athletics, where the UK has recently fallen short.
In the 2005 World Championships Britain won just three medals.
The new man in charge of UK Athletics is Edmond Warner. He's not a former professional athlete, but was a top businessman in the City. Indeed, he used to be one of our regular markets commentators on the News at Noon.
Ed Warner went along to to the new Lea Valley athletics centre in north London to explain his plans.
