Floyd Mayweather is vowing to knock out Ricky Hatton in their super fight in Las Vegas on December 8.

Contracts for the eagerly-awaited welterweight championship were barely signed when Mayweather came out fighting.

The five-weight world champion, who has come out of retirement, said: "He's definitely getting knocked out... I am the best fighter in boxing, and I'm prepared for any challenge my team puts in front of me. And with Ricky Hatton it's already personal.

"He has talked and disrespected me so much in the past months that I can't wait to get him in the ring and show him he is not even on my level."

Hatton laboured to victory against Jose Luis Collazo in June as he picked up the WBA welterweight title the last time he stepped up to the welterweight division.

And the world's premier light-welterweight fighter, who is unbeaten in his 43-fight career to date, has revealed that it is his lifetime dream to climb to the top of the pound-for-pound rankings, a position currently held by Mayweather.

The 28-year-old Manchester 'Hitman', who is set to pick up an £8 million windfall, said: "To win the world title is one thing, but to be known as the best pound-for-pound fighter on the planet in any weight division would be something else and I just can't wait."
