Marseille boss Eric Gerets says his team can repeat their Anfield triumph of last season and beat Liverpool again tonight.

Marseille boss Eric Gerets says his team can repeat their Anfield triumph of last season and beat Liverpool again tonight.

The French side secured a 1-0 victory at Anfield in the Champions League last year, and Gerets believes his side are capable of repeating the feat.

However, he concedes that Liverpool will have to play below par if his side are to come out on top.

He said: "The situation this season hasn't changed: Liverpool are still favourites to win the game.

"We can only win if they are a little bit less than usual and we are on top form - like it was last season.

"Fortunately in football you never know before the game. If we win this game we have a great chance of going through, but we know it will be difficult.

"But as you know we did something special last season and we will try to do that same thing again."
