British triple-jumper Phillips Idowu wants to extend his long run of victories before he jets off to the Olympics.

Idowu is the clear favourite to win gold in Beijing now Sweden's Christian Olsson has been ruled out through injury.

He has won four events in less than two months and he will be in action at the London Grand Prix at Crystal Palace this weekend before flying out the Great Britain team training camp in Macau.

Idowu said: "I want to jump well in Crystal Palace. I really want to head to Beijing with my unbeaten record intact.

"Confidence is so important in this game and I'm feeling really confident this season. I want to head to Beijing feeling good. I'm as fit as I've ever been and as happy as I've ever been with my form.

"You don't need to tell me, though, that nothing has been achieved yet this summer. All this form will count for nothing if I can't convert that into the gold medal in Beijing."
