Christina Ohuruogu takes gold in the women's 400 metres in Beijing

Christina Ohuruogu comes from behind to win gold in the women's 400 metres, taking Team GB's gold medal haul to 16.
Britain claimed its first track and field gold medal of the Beijing Games today after Christine Ohuruogu triumphed in the women's 400 metres.
The 24-year-old came from behind to cross the line first in 49.62 seconds, adding the Olympic crown to the world title she won in Japan last year.
Ohuruogu's victory took Team GB's total haul of goal medals to 16, placing Britain third in the overall standings.
Cycling success
The east London athlete's gold medal capped another fine day at the Olypmics for Britain, with three gold medals and two silver.
Earlier in the day cyclist Chris Hoy took his own personal gold medal tally to three in 2008, after beating fellow Briton Jason Kenny in the men's sprint final. Kenny took silver.
Victoria Pendleton matched Hoy's achievement in the women's cycling sprint final, seeing off her Australian counterpart to clinch gold.
Showboating
Away from the velodrome, British sailor Paul Goodison won gold in laser class, erasing memories of his fourth place finish in Athens.
While Briton Germaine Mason won an unexpected silver medal in the high jump event.
